At Curve this year, there was an entire section of the show devoted to German designers. Each booth in this section was illuminated with a neon sign. I was immediately drawn to one such entitled fishbelly. What an interesting name for a lingerie company I had to learn more. When I approached the booth, my eye was caught by a rack full of fun and saucy undergarments. I asked the owner, Jutta Teschner, how she came up with the name for the lingerie brand. She said that when she had first founded her company and named it, she was working in a different industry; so, when she transitioned to lingerie, she had to stick with the name because she had already registered the business. We love an eccentric origin story! And the line matches the whimsy of the name. The lingerie label Fishbelly has been based in Berlin again since September. After six years in Hong Kong, designer Jutta Teschner, whose lingerie has already been sold at Ludwig Beck and Galeries Lafayette, has returned to the German capital.
In her shop in the Hackesche Höfe, she sells her sinful designs with playful details and adjusts bustiers and panties for customers. She also carries labels like Marlies Dekkers and Underprotection in her own shop. In an interview, Jutta Teschner explains why she went to Hong Kong and why, despite the pandemic, she did not lose her courage when starting her own label.

FISHBELLY RETURNS TO BERLIN
It's been six years since the exciting lingerie label fishbelly disappeared to Hong Kong. Now there is good news for the German specialist trade: Jutta Teschner is back. The trained lingerie designer creates elegant, French-sophisticated lingerie that has already received design awards. "China is known as the world's fashion workbench. That's how I was able to expand my specialist knowledge in Asia and worked there as a lingerie expert for several large companies in the lingerie industry," explains Teschner. She also had her own store in Hong Kong - but she was drawn back to her old homeland. She picks up seamlessly where she left off six years ago: her new shop is back in the Hackesche Höfe. The designer invites you here: "Here we not only design, here interested parties can look behind the scenes and explore the design and manufacturing process up close." Instead of the inauguration party, which could not take place due to corona, the resourceful businesswoman brings a party to her customers: In cooperation with Metropolitan Grooves from Bielefeld, a "sophisticated mix" was created, entitled 67 minutes house"fishbelly - lingerie grooves vol. 1" , which should make seduction audible.
